Having
a basic understanding what it is like to be
different or challenged is necessary in today's
culture. Being able to develop awareness of
the physically challenged is an opportunity
for children to put themselves through the
paces a physically challenged child faces
every day.
Children will expend energy, practice gross
& fine motor skills, learn what it is
like to rely on other parts of their senses
or bodies, & understand the physical challenge
of being dependant on tools and other muscle
groups for transport.

Discovery
Questions:
Do they know anyone who is handicapped
or disabled? How difficult was it to
adapt in both areas? What parts of their
bodies or which senses did they rely
on to complete the exercise? What will
they do if they see another person/child
who has a disability/wheelchair? |
