Year 2006-2007 Accomplishments
The Children's Discovery Museum of
the Desert has experienced an exceptionally
successful and inventive year. The Museum has served over 600,000 people since its opening of the new facility in 1998. Innovative
programs, quality instruction, and relevant
projects attracted new participants, a more
diverse audience and a multitude of smiles!

Kindergarten
Kickoff: a Museum pilot program
for Preschool and Headstart children
to fortify and enhance their kindergarten
readiness skills with free family
workshops and "Learning is
Fun" celebrations. |

Family Fun Night: a program
offering evenings of free Museum
admission, entertainment, prizes,
and more. A fun introduction to
the Museum
experience that embraces all families. |

Mascot program: Sunny, our
touring Mascot and Museum ambassador,
brings smiles and hugs to a multitude
of youngsters and their families;
crossing barriers and promoting
creative learning adventures throughout
the Valley. |

Toddler
Programs: the fastest growing
area of the early childhood program
department with classes and activities
every day and celebrations on
weekends.
It's a joyous sight as our youngest
visitors experience and participate
in a multitude of challenging
and inspiring projects "just
their size". |

Teen
Program: boasting successful
recruitment and training of over
100 teens
as enthusiastic volunteers and
program assistants. Additional
Museum teen activities provide
positive lifelong learning experiences
to equip our youth with the necessary
life skills to perform valuable
community service and demonstrate
exemplary citizenship. |
