Explorers: entering 2nd or 3rd grade in the 2017-2018 school year (20 child limit)

June 19-23
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • Games, Games, Games: Play games from around the world and explore the imaginative ways people have played together. You’ll even invent your own game!

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Grossology II: Enter the world of science as you master cool experiments, make observations, create slimy concoctions, mix and blend colors, study the science of gross things and much, much more!

June 26-30
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • Junior Builders: Get ready to build! Design your own buildings, build bridges, and construct skyscrapers. You have what it takes to be an engineer!

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Passport to Fun: You’ll start the week with a blank passport but as you experience a different culture each day, you’ll get a stamp! How many countries will you visit?

July 5-7*
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • Masks: From animal masks to monsters and even each other…campers will create their own masks then parade around the Museum as players in disguise.

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Kitchen Concoctions: Bring your appetite and your imagination! We’ll wake up your sense of taste this week by creating your very own edible works of art. It’ll be Food-Tastic!

9:00 a.m.-12 noon • To the Moon and Back: Climb onboard our spaceship and travel to the moon! You’ll explore our amazing galaxy as you tour the planets, discover what it’s like to be an astronaut, and learn what makes up the universe.

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Beat Bop Boom: Sing songs, move to beats, and explore the different ways to make and play musical instruments! Use art supplies and found materials to create drums, rain sticks, and more.

July 17-21
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • Seuss on the Loose: If you are very small or very tall, if you are any size at all, come for a week of fun for everyone. Each day we will read, create, and play from a different Dr. Seuss book.

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Dinosaur Dig: How long ago did dinosaurs exists? What bones were the biggest? Which were the smallest? Learn about dinosaur fossils and go on a dig to discover more!

July 24-28 - CAMP FULL!
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • Animal Explorations: Campers will learn about the wonders of adaptation and examine the ways in which animals survive and thrive in different environments.

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Castles and Dragons: Become a prince or princess and learn how to battle dragons during this magical fairy tale week. Campers will listen to classic fairy tale stories and decorate royal crowns, create castles and much more.

July 31-August 4 - CAMP FULL!!
9:00 a.m.-12 noon • ArtVentures II: It’s time to get messy! In this camp, you will experiment with materials and learn unusual ways to create art–no matter how messy it gets.

1:00-4:00 p.m. • Symphony of the Senses II: What’s your favorite smell? Have you ever felt a snake skin? Our senses help us navigate the world. Campers will explore a new sense each day–I’ve heard it’s going to be awesome!
